The Union County Gun Range is located within the Chattahoochee National Forest and the 7 acre site development involved detailed coordination with National Park Services to construct a 25 yard pistol range and a 150 yard rifle range along with an office building.

Site work consisted of clearing and grading up to 15 feet of mass excavation and fill placement to construct the range’s 25’ tall ballistic backstops and side berms at the pistol and rifle ranges.  Scope included reforestation of national forest land around the perimeter of the site.  The pistol and rifle range structures consist of concrete foundations and slabs, wood framing with heavy timber trusses, pre-engineered wood trusses, standing seam metal roofs, exterior consisting of stacked stone and hardi-siding.

The interior of the range structures included Tectum acoustic wall and ceiling panels, and acoustic rubber pavers for sound absorption to meet United States Forestry Service requirements.  The facility scope also consisted of building a 2,000 SF Office/ Classroom building that will be used for administrative and education purposes.
