Max Meadows O&M Building is the operational and maintenance center for a 2500 acre solar farm that generates 75 MW of electricity for Dominion Energy, as part of the Wythe County Solar Project.
This facility will be able to manage other solar fields across the southeast. Construction consisted of wood framing with a pre-engineered truss system and metal roofing and wall panels. An extensive mechanical scope was incorporated to ensure that all equipment provided by the owner remained at a safe operating temperature. The building also utilizes an ATS, Automated Transfer Switch, to allow operation via the typical electric service provider, the onsite solar panels, or an onsite generator to allow the facility to remain in operation regardless of conditions.
